TC001 – “The 7 Traits of Thriving Chiropractors”

In episode One of the Thriving Chiropractor Podcast, I discuss the seven traits or habits I’ve consistently observed in all thriving chiropractors.

Books

The E-Myth Revisited – Even though not written specifically for chiropractors, it is totally and easily applicable. Gerber walks you through the steps in the life of a business—from entrepreneurial infancy through adolescent growing pains to the mature entrepreneurial perspective: the guiding light of all businesses that succeed. Most importantly, Gerber draws the vital, often overlooked distinction between working on your business and working in your business. A must read!

How To Win Friends and Influence People – This grandfather of all people-skills books is a must read for anybody, but especially chiropractors wanting to maximize their potential. Financial success, Carnegie believed, is due 15 percent to professional knowledge and 85 percent to “the ability to express ideas, to assume leadership, and to arouse enthusiasm among people.” He teaches these skills through underlying principles of dealing with people so that they feel important and appreciated. He also emphasizes fundamental techniques for handling people without making them feel manipulated. Learn this information instead of the scare-tactics and manipulative scripts the consultants would have you memorize.

This is a great podcast for any chiropractor who is looking to start on the right foot and become successful. The ideas are fluid, well articulated and pertinent to todays chiropractic profession. I highly recommend any students, recent graduates or established docs to listen and learn.
